GH: Added mortem tags.

First of all, I'm not sure how to format the dumps correctly. I've played the game for a long time, I just finally posted a mortem instead of playing yet another game.

1202 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 1108 of those were killed.
6 of those were killed by something unknown.
10 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 57 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

 21 souls destroyed the Cyberdemon...
5 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
16 killed the bastard and survived.

Anyway, this game was one of my first really successful N! games, in that I didn't have to scrape by the few final levels. The thing that really made this game for me was an early nano pack at the Armory, which I later used to make the Gravity boots, and a Necroarmor. I was going to make a nanofiber duelist armor, but when I found the necroarmor, I decided to go for the grav boots. By the end I had a speed of .10 seconds per move, so I was always able to dodge for cover and blast anything I found with my plasma rifle. It didn't list this in the dump, but I actually found the Medical Powerarmor three times. Apparently uniques aren't so unique if you don't pick them up.

Overall, I had a bit of a difficult early game, and doing the Arena on Nightmare is always hard, but by the end I just steamrolled everything that got in my way. The one thing that was actually hard was the Unholy Cathedral, but by then I had a bulked-up chainsaw and a ton of large medkits. I had intended to throw knives at the AoD since I could literally run circles around it, but I forgot to grab one to bring with me. I just used a hatred skull to zerk up, and then killed the AoD. It only cost me about 7 large medkits! When it had damaged my Necroarmor, I ran off to let the armor regen, and then came back for more.

I'm a bit disappointed about not getting the Demonic Platinum, even though I was on AoMc. I'd forgotten that you had to get it on a standard game, so I went into every single level. To be honest though, I would have done it anyway.

Well I certainly thought I had seen everything until this mortem popped up. In addition to having a quadruple Diamond get, there's this little beauty:
He played for 1 hour and 6 minutes. That you pulled off all of these badges in just over an hour is basically beyond belief. AoMC helps a ton, I'm sure, but you must have been speeding through at an blinding pace (especially considering gravity boots weren't assembled until dlvl17). I suppose Ammochain and explosives don't require TOO much thinking.

Anyway, this game was one of my first really successful N! games, in that I didn't have to scrape by the few final levels.
It's not a bad idea to report nightmare victories anyway. They're pretty decent currency for one's respect around these parts!

You're better off picking it up, if only to stop the game from respawning it. It's possible that you could have gotten something even better, not that you would have needed it with the equipment you have in the post-mortem.

I just used a hatred skull to zerk up, and then killed the AoD. It only cost me about 7 large medkits! When it had damaged my Necroarmor, I ran off to let the armor regen, and then came back for more.
Depending on how your inventory management worked out, I would have saved the duelist armor for AoD: combined with a hatred skull you'd have gotten 95% melee resistance, which is more than enough to kill without using any med-packs at all. Doesn't seem like it made a difference in the long run, but it's good to think ahead in those sorts of terms.

I didn't realize Elite Diamond was attainable in a non-standard game...not sure if that SHOULD be allowed, to be honest. AoMC is, in quite a few ways, simpler and less grueling than a standard game. Many of the badges are meant to be earned by specific conditions rather than coming up with a clever combination of challenge and build (that sort of thing is left to medals). Still, it's the best Destroyer I've seen, so credit goes where credit is due.

Also, welcome to the forums!

Looking at the player screen, it's not supposed to be attainable outside of a standard game, something which will probably need checking in the beta.

Elite aside, this mortem is ridiculously awesome.

Honestly, I have no idea why I got the Elite. I didn't think that it was possible either, so you can imagine my surprise. I definitely should have kept the Duelist armor, but I was in a bit of a DoomRL trance, just smashing through levels. Frankly, I'm amazed that I made it through that game with all the slip-ups that I made.

As I've said before, I suck at speed-runs, so a one-hour game time at Nightmare is mightily impressive in itself to me...  one-hour game time with 91% kills is just insane!  :o  I feel sorry for your keyboard for all the rapid key-mashing you must've been doing!  :P

Perhaps you could go for the seldom-attained UAC Diamond next?  :)

Actually, I'm trying for an Everyman Diamond with Veteran Diamond, possibly Explorer and maybe a Longinus Diamond if I'm feeling really insane. My plan for UC is to outrun the AoD and combat-knife it to death. However, that will rely on getting grav boots.

FYI, It's possible to outspeed the AoD without gravity boots if you have enough patience...  or insanity.  :)

Good luck with Everyman Diamond.  I actually haven't played this game at all in the past couple months, but when I was playing it regularly, I tried for the Everyman a couple hundred times without success.
