  He decided it was too hot there.
  On level 23 he stumbled into complex full of revenants!
  Then at last he found Dis!
  On level 24 he finally defeated the Mastermind.

 1018 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 926 of those were killed.
 3 of those were killed by something unknown.
 15 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
 And 53 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

 22 souls destroyed the Mastermind...
 3 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
 16 killed the bitch and survived.
 3 showed that it can outsmart hell itself.

I ported my 0.9.9.4 saves, so no shottyman bronze.

The new AI benefits shotty builds. In fact if you show yourself to enemies near a cover and get cover, they come near you and is easy to shot them from safe position.

The real pain on the ass of the Shotty build are the Arachs and the Mastermind. For the first ones, avoiding open spaces is highly required.  Mastermind don't get knockbacked, so to beat it in combat is required a plasma damage protection (and at least a phase device).

Compared to version 0.9.9.4, the middle part of the game is easiest. Now Revs are a minor problem, and Shotgun and DShotgun seems more useful. The Tactical Shotgun is still a powerful weapon.

Hell Arena: this is easy for a shotgun build, even if you get shottyman during arena. This is due to the new Cacos' AI combined with shotgun knockback.

Chained Court: I found this easier, than in 0.9.9.4. The real trouble is the Arena Master, but once beaten it, there isn't any other big problem.

Phobos Anomaly: I go forward until walls disappears, then run back until I go back to the door, then destroy all Souls with a single Dshotgun shot, sometimes a second shot is required. To cornershot Cacos, it's recommended to change th door side every shot.

Hell's Armory: With shotgun there is the risk of unintentionally destroy the doors and releasing the Arachs beforehand, but due the new Arachs' AI this isn't a big trouble anymore.

City of Skull: Now that I looked my mortem, I see that I could use a hellwave pack or a Shockwave pack to get rid of the first souls pack. But the Dshotgun does well the job, though you must consume few medpacks

Spider's Lair: I entered here while invulnerable. Otherwise, it's only a way to waste resources. The reward isn't worth the effort.

Tower of Babel: Well, It's all about sidestepping until doomguy dodges the rocket, shoot Cybie and sidestepping again.

Vaults: Easier with new AI.

Before entering Dis, I cleared a complex full of Revs.

Dis: The Mastemind does plasma damage and don't get knokbacked (maybe with a P-modded Dshotgun or a supershotgun it do it), so i try to radar-shoot it and when it comes too near, i phase out. The only thing that allowed me to beat it is the plasma shield. I belive if you haven't a plasma damage protection i'ts better niking the level.

If you can close up on him, his melee attacks are quite weak, and since he doesn't get knockbacked, you can unload your double shotgun as much as you like. He's dead pretty soon.

In DOOM, you practically can't win against this one in melee.
Due to the fact that once you get close, all those shots are going to hurt, really, really BAD.
