I don't really like using plasma weapons. I'm usually a chaingun man.

And then I found the l'il old Railgun.

I wound up tearing the living hell out of most creatures using my assault rifle on imps and formers, and my focused double shotgun on various demons and lost souls. I got knocked around a bit, and then, by the biggest stroke of luck, I found a railgun. It was so damned funny watching revenants and arch-viles falling like flies. It made short work of the Spider Mastermind, and it made Carmack easier than a regular Cyberdemon fight.

I remember reaching JC before, but I got completely swarmed by lost souls after he ran out of rockets (there were about 250 of them, and this was v0.9.9.4). I was shocked to see him spitting out barons of hell, hell knights and even revenants!

In my opinion, I relied too heavily on the railgun, but I had to abuse it! You don't get something that beautiful and let it rot in your inventory. You grab every power cell and battery you can, and strive to make every demon's life a worse Hell than they've ever experienced. ;D

Of course you had to use the railgun. When the RNG hands you something like that, you don't pass it up. There's a reason that it's an unique, and a rare one at that. This kind of thing just gets more critical as you move up the difficulty ramp.
