Maoun pauses a moment to choose which archer to pursue. One of the Archers tries to get in a shot but Maoun snaps out of it in time to dodge. With a glance at the main fight, Maoun decides it's time to make full use of his spells effective if he has a chance of surviving, gawds willing...

The largely ineffectual struggle of both sides is suddenly interrupted by a terrible scream. Apparently Samuel decided it was time to leave the battle. A wise choice considering the circumstances, but the execution left much to be desired - by choosing to simply turn and run he gave the orcs an opportunity that they didn't fail to exploit even in their sloshed state. One of them hamstrung the thief, other mauled his shoulder horribly with last one finally delivering the mercifull killing blow.

- Sho Lee Wu strikes at an orc and FUMBLES. Belt holding his pants gets loose imposing another -1 to hit until it is fixed
- Orc archer shoots Maoun, and hits for 2 damage
- Orc archer shoots Maoun and misses
- Samuel Greenwood starts fleeing in panic
- Orc gets a free attack against Samuel and CRITICALLY HITS him into the knee for 3 damage (1 of which gets absorbed by armor, which is now DESTROYED) , tearing a muscle and reducing his dexterity by 2 for 12 days (cut in half after that, healed after another 12 days), making him fall to the ground and drop his dagger, and cutting his speed in half for 8 hours (cut by 25% for 9 days afterwards)
- Orc gets a free attack against Samuel and CRITICALLY HITS him in top of the shoulder for 5 damage, reducing his to-hit by 3 until the damage is healed, reducing his dexterity by 2 until the wound is healed
- Orc gets a free attack against Samuel and hits him for 16 damage, killing him
