[M|AoMr|94%|YAVP] Sharpshooter is kinda scary

Matt_S:
Ammochains are one of the key ingredients to a sharpshooter.  If you find enough of them, you can just use them as your normal ammo source, and you hardly have to worry about reloading time anymore.  In my opinion, judging from my experience on HNTR, MSs is the best of the pistol master trait builds.  The easy whizkid access means you can get some awesomely modded pistols for the midgame while you're waiting for that master trait - after that, the game is almost in the bag.

Malicious Blades is an awesome trait, but I wouldn't recommend it for AoB, since early game without berserker is really tough. It's better when you can use shotgun or something in the early level until you get the master.

Edit: I was trying to get strongman gold recently, thinking that since it allows the use of knives, Malicious Blades would be perfect master to go for. I didn't manage to actually get it even after many tries. Then I switched to a vampyre build and won the badge after 3-4 tries.

Yeah the souls now are scarry.

I'm wondering if it is worth it on a pistol-only run to assemble a plasma dealing pistol, just for souls and revenants... I really can't decide if (assuming one has the mods) the mods wouldn't be better spend elsewhere.

I played a sharpshooter build recently (I think it was Ao100) and I did assemble the energy pistol, since that is the only pistol assembly I know of (besides speedloader). It was pretty good, and allowed me to destroy walls with 3 shots. (I think I power modded it as well). There was just enough ammo (and arachnotrons) not to worry about running out.

At some point I found the trigun and their effectiveness was roughly the same (i didn't bother to compare the stats, I jsut observed that monsters die in the same ammout of shots), so I switched them based on what ammo was more plentiful at the moment.
