How do you activate Graphics Mode?
« on: March 22, 2012, 20:40 »

It says in the updates that there's a graphics mode.

-- TR#--- : graphics mode, set parameters in abrl.ini

I don't see anything to activate it in the ini file.

If by graphics mode you mean something like DoomRL, with distinct bitmap tiles, AliensRL doesn't have that. Even the graphical mode of AliensRL (which I believe is the technical default) still uses ASCII to represent everything, it just also comes with sweet lighting effects and a very resizable screen.

I would love to know that personally, considering aliensrl doesn't really fit on my screen (an ancient eee pc) which makes it impossible to read the look text.

Try the (pseudo?) console version available here:

There is one drawback, though - saves seem to be incompatible between console and non-console.
