I'm not sure it's entirely necessary at this point, either, with the improved functionality of the 'u'se command.

It's not in the current version of the game. "Being coded in" refers to its implementation in the next release, to which you aren't necessarily privy.

But yeah, we've already designed the 'u'se command to do exactly what you're asking. I suspect that this is enough, but who knows.
