The purpose of this run was to try to fulfill some conditions i heard about in order to get dragonslayer in UC. Apparently those conditions I heard were wrong because I failed them at least once and still got DS in UC. It was my first time seeing it and though I had some vague ideas how to pick it up I failed. So all my ideas were wrong too.  I wanted to get angelic badge but failed when captain respawned and i didn't notice that. Berserker armor was the reward for mortuary but i obviously didn't need it. And in the last level i got hit by mancubi(i don't know which mancubus killed me I didn't see any) but that wasn't upsetting at all because the purpose of this run was already fulfilled/failed.

Also got conqueror badge. Everything is easy on AoMC except destroyer diamond :).

I wonder, it is not the first time when Mancubus kills a player / shots at player without being seen first :] .

I think they can return fire blindly. In any case, if there is a mancubus around, it's not a good idea to stand anywhere without cover.

Once when they saw you, then again whether they saw you or not. They fired two rockets each time, actually they were more like fireballs. One aimed at you and off to the side. In second shot the second rocket went to the other side.

It's the same way here, though they fire three rockets both times.

Just a little nitpick - IIRC in DooM 2 they fired three times two rockets :).

In my experience, they don't shoot at you if you are in cover.

They have to see you to fire the first volley of three rockets.  Then they fire the second volley whether they see you or not, for a total of 6 rockets.  In the original Doom 2, they fired three volleys of two rockets, also for a total of 6.

Incidentally, Cyberdemons in original Doom behaved the same way...  Once they see you and start firing, they fire off three rockets even if you go out of their view while they're firing.  It's especially funny if you get them to fight something small, like a Lost Soul, which gets pulverized by the first rocket, but Cybie keeps firing to get his total of three rockets anyway.  :)

EDIT:  As for the thread subject, I also have no idea how to pick up DS.  My latest theory was apparently incorrect, and the latest clues that someone gave me don't make sense to me.  I understand that the DS is from a manga I'm not familiar with called "Berserk" and it's a big-ass sword and I guess that's supposed to be a clue, but I haven't been able to make any sense of it so far.  :|

Well i had read this manga several years ago. I tried to remember anything special that can help me to pick up DS and in result I had an idea that could help but i couldn't test it in this run.

I thought of that...  It led me to a couple of my theories, which turned out to be false.  :|  It's been said that you should be able to do it in any game, so I'm guessing your build doesn't matter, so I'm not sure what clue I could possibly get from looking at other mortems, but from what you're saying, maybe I should examine them again?  *Shrug*  I'll give it some more thought...

it is never a good thing to let a mancubus fire at you, especially if you have the sight advantage, and especially on AoMC. Pity for you.

Got several new ideas, some from manga some from old DS victory threads. So I tried once more to pick it up but everything was useless. I think i managed to figure out what kind of actions lead to picking up DS but I don't know the exact result of these actions I need to accomplish.

I am making this runs on AoMC only to simplify fulfilling the conditions of DS appearing in UC (well I still don't know exact conditions but my guess is almost correct I think.)

So I failed again but this time I successfully finished the run and also got Veteran Diamond and Angelic badge.

It took me a bit to figure out how to pick up the Dragon Slayer. I will just say this, it wasn't as insanely complex as I thought.

Also, I know how to pick it up, but I don't know how to get it to spawn. :(
