--------------------------------------------------------------

Chained Court was kind of bad...  There were so many formers in the general direction of the arena master, and I wasn't confident in my melee ability so I tried to shoot them to death.  They got in a lot of shots on me and I wasn't making much progress, so I decided to finally try out a rocket jump.  I was less than impressed, and I certainly wasn't going to reload and try another one with the Arena Master in my vision range.  So I ran up and started smacking the arena master... with my chaingun.  Swap weapons, now start chopping him up.  Uh-oh, berserk ran out.  Uh-oh, almost dead, use a large med-pack.  But I was still victorious.

Ahh, the Wall...  I don't even remember the last time my tunnel held up.  It always starts when I have a little notch sticking out where I want to corner shoot.  Then my gentle missile correction ends up taking out a rather large chunk of my corner.  That's probably a sign that I should go to the other corner and try again, but I proceed anyways.  At first the corner shooting seems to be working well, with two barons in sight, one close and one more distant, but neither of them able to shoot me.  The one close to me dies, and... a second one was right behind him just out of sight.  Now I have a baron right up in my face who's barely scratched, and there's still one farther away to worry about, plus potentially several more out of sight.  I swap to my double shotgun hoping I can blow the damn thing back, but in the time it takes me to swap my weapon he moves diagonal to me.  I shoot him anyways, and the two bruiser brothers start taking shots at me.  It's a damn good thing I have Dodge Master.

With my cover screwed up, I triy using my rocket launcher but I can't land any hits with it.  So it's up to my double shotgun.  My strategy is to get in close, blast them, get out of sight, and reload.  Despite sounding very straight-forward, I carelessly got close to the edge because I thought I could take out the nearby baron in one more shot.  BUT I DID NOT.  Then my really dumb side kicked in: "you might get hit in the splash even if you try to dodge your way out of his vision, so just reload in place.  You can survive another hit!"  BUT I DID NOT.  So I still haven't won on HMP since resetting my player data.

Since I already had a plan of sorts for reloading, it didn't seem necessary to equip the shellbox at that time.

What was the plan?
Dodge my way out of everything's vision range before reloading.  And my death occurred when I broke off of the plan.

I've tried that strategy with similar results.  :)  It's fine if you can take them on one at a time, but if too many Barons creep over the line, you're screwed.  Your Shell Box was your best bet here.  (and it's not like there would be a better place to use it)

My strategy for CC+ is to go right without taking chainsaw/zerks, kill all of the cacos/demons and humans, grab the agility pack, then take the saw and both zerks, or just one if you're a marine, saving the other for after the level's cleared. Only problem is being careful to not lose a zerk to caco/baron fire. Maybe kill them from the left. Either way you should have enough zerk to finish off the AM and get to the next level.

My CC+ strategy has been to exit through the left doors. This protects the 'zerks from baron fire, and also, since you start the level right next to the level doors, you can leave and radar-shoot the leftmost barons before their location becomes hard to predict. If the Arena Master shows up early this isn't really a problem as it just means you don't have to spend as many turns of 'zerk walking to him.

CC+ pro stratz : lure the barons/hk (cacos aren't a prob since they don't open doors) to the doors, then blast them into lava. Then wait until Arena Master approaches, take chainsaw and a zerk, kill AM, clear level, take last zerk for 100% health.

I'll join the discussion too.
If you stand and wait near left side, than barons coming from the right can screw you.You will be forced to leave and meet another barons or AM.
If you stand near right side, then left barons will destroy your packs and sometimes chainsaw.
1.The safest idea that i know is to take one pack and open right top door NOT diagonally(as diagonally can lead to baron trying to shoot you.Worst case if he misses - he'll destroy one pack and chainsaw.).
2.1.f you are immediately upon opening, take cover, wait for that baron to come to you, and cornershoot him(finish with knockbacking to lava to dispose of corpse).
2.2.If not, kill formers, cornershoot up and down, if nothing, than one more step, diagonally try to radarshoot baron, cornershoot him while he's across two tiles of lava.Destroy corpse with RL if desired.
Sometimes barons enter from other side, but it's not that bad when you're berserked - i leave the safehouse and fight them in the open to avoid destruction of chainsaw and the pack.
3.Then same operation with bot(or reversed) door.
4.Then either luring barons to the right side, or killing them in the left.
5.Kill AM with whatever you want, as he's alone now.

The barons wandering in themselves before I've killed at the very least the other two is really rare from my experience. When I have Intuition it's pretty much impossible for me to not clear CC+

I'd say quite common to me.
