Your save count seems... excessive.

Perhaps you should try to play through non-challenge levels targetting a Master trait first to get a better hang of the game, as opposed to relying on so many saves and nearly random trait advancement.

Traits are in some sense, the life blood of the game.  Master traits have synergies that add up quite substantially for certain play styles, and as such can make it easier.  Try that first to have a better feel for the game before experimenting something more exotic...
