IMO Berserker is useless in AoB games. You get Berserk effect from large meds (on demand) and from large health globes too. Brute(2) + chainsaw already let's you one-hit demons, imps, humans etc. so the 4% berserk chance is not likely to trigger anyway. Better take some defensive skills to make life easier around AVs. And once you get the LS it's gg anyway.
Even on non-AoB games I'd only take Berserker(1). I killed the AoD with that and when I faced Cybie with Berserker (2) I killed him without triggering Berserk.....

As I had said, I used my last medkit on AoD (who dealt me some damage before I took him out), and then "found Hellish Caves", with enough Arachnotrons to make even maxdmg=1 a danger. Barserk triggered, and very likely saved me there. It also triggered in at least one battle including an AV, so I didn't have to waste what could have been my last medkit for Cybie. I had Hellrunner(2) for the defensive anyway, and would have filled it if not for the lowish killcount.
Also, don't Berserk triggeres stack for more time (and I think I've heard effect, too)? If so, with Berserk(2-3) on H-UV, you could probably keep a spree going almost the entire game.

That's what i'm talking about. Berserk stacks, but not more than limit of 200 turns. It is VERY hard to kill AV with knife without Berserk. When i saw AV in Malicious Knives challenge, i just run away as fast as i can... to trigger Berserk on somebody weak and then run back.

Why are you using shotgun? Why not pistol? BoHs will fire pistol, not their ACID balls, if they find one.

HAHA! :P Heh... Hooo...
Ok.
I use the shotgun to isolate shells, and then drop one at a time (otherwise I just use whatever's near).
I haven't tried the pistol system, but it seems to me they fire their, ahem, balls, alot more often anyway, and then, when I do use lures I tend to get them 0-range, so they can hold a BFG for all I care.
Do they really fire the pistols more often...?
Oh, and I once got a direct-hit rocket, then I was pretty content with the acid :P
