Question
« on: December 30, 2012, 20:36 »

Hello.

I just recently start to play this RL and find it absolutely amazing.

i'm not too familiar with ASCII games like Nethack but played some roguelikes like the Mystery Dungueon series.

Well, about the question, it's about the HW specialist.

Does the Gyro-Stabilizer provides extra accuracy when you use Heavy weapons? Since i'm new to this game, i have only played mostly with the Marines
and i wanted to try out the other classes.

So far this was the last time i played (with a HW specialist)

not extra accuracy. But you can't equip some of heavy weapon without it. As far as I play, it near useless :) When you have only gyrostabilizer, you have no enough ammo or have no such a weapon. To the point where you have a weapon and ammo, you are master in HW or find power armor - decent protection + possible equip anything.

It takes long time to get Mastery, so it may sound useful, but ...Power Armor tends to appear from time to time. And you can kill the Queen without those very heavy weapons ...
And last but not the least, you may need some armor, let it be Flak or Plaststeel one ...

Ok, I have a question and I don't want to start new topic for something little like this thing.

Screen is too big for me. The lowest part of screen goes beyond the monitor (768px height). When I 'l'ook on items or level features, I must keep Aliens' window up. Is possible to change a screen size (I didn't found this option)?

I have little experience with coding or AliensRL in particular, but I had a look at the config.lua in the game's root folder, which is generally a good place to start looking. On line 14 and 15 screen height and width are defined. I suggest you fiddle around with these settings a bit, and I'm sure you'll find something that works for you...

True. I didn't check config.lua earlier, because I though that game's window resolution is hardcoded. Config.lua makes me think of NotEye.

Thanks! :)
