[M|AAo666|YAAM] Knife Juggler

--- Quote from: Tormuse on April 03, 2013, 17:36 ---Since the BC confers the Blademaster effect if you kill an enemy with it, this meant a lot of juggling between the two weapons, depending on what enemy I was attacking, to make sure the BC delivered the killing blow.

Why all the juggling? Both effects of MMB only require you to have blades equipped, for which both the Cleaver and the Chainsword qualify...
Tormuse:
The Butcher's Cleaver has a special feature that if you kill something with it, the kill takes zero time. (The same as the Scout's Blademaster trait) This means that, for example, if you find yourself completely surrounded by small enemies and you have the BC, you can kill them all instantaneously without them having a chance to react.
In my game, juggling helped me keep all my kills at zero time so I could slaughter groups of enemies without them having a chance to react. For example, if I hit a Mancubus (which takes two hits) with the BC in my primary slot, the BC would hit it first and then the Chainsword would kill it and the whole attack would take the normal amount of time. However, if I juggled the BC into the prepared slot, the Chainsword would hit it first, and then the BC would kill it and the whole attack would take zero time. You only get the Blademaster effect if the BC lands the killing blow.
Hopefully, that makes my strategy clearer. :)
LuckyDee:
Ah.. I'd read the 'attack with both weapons' bit for MMB, but hadn't given any thought as to how this would be put into practice. Makes sense now.
AlterAsc:
21500 kills.
With knives.
Your patience is not of a human nature. :)
Tormuse:
Well, I took a lot of breaks so I wouldn't get bored. :P And keeping an eye out for mod packs to get all the assemblies kept things at least somewhat interesting. (And so did things like Agony Elemental caves) :) I expect that if I play AAo666 again, say to try for the Centurial Angelic badge, I'm probably going to play as a Scout and just do a stair dive for most of it.
