This should have been a Quartermaster Angelic badge, except for a silly error at the end.  I had just killed the Cyberdemon and still had my Missile Launcher out.  My first act on the next level was to charge toward a Revenant/Arch-Vile pack, intending to use the Gunrunner trait to pummel them with rockets.  It wasn't much of a charge; actually it was just one step, because instead of shooting at them, the Gunrunner trait targeted a Demon I didn't notice at point-blank range and I blew myself up.  And then the nuke blew everything up.  :P  The only reason I was so low on hitpoints when I entered the level was that I was berserk when I entered the Tower of Babel and decided to give Cybie a few whacks with the Chainsaw before finishing him off with other weaponry.  In retrospect, that was kind of a dumb thing to do, because without any levels in Brute, I hardly scratched him and he really tore into me.  I was at 32% health at the start of the next level and I really should have healed up before doing anything, but I really wanted to get a few gunrunning shots in at the crowd before they woke up and dispersed.  Oh well...

Gunrunner trait, combined with Shottyman, was the clear choice for this challenge.  Being able to fire, reload, and move at the same time was a real time-saver!  :D  At first, I was getting relatively low kills, just trying to get to the exit as quickly as possible, but as I leveled up and got better equipment, I was able to clear more and more enemies and get my kill percentage higher and higher.  I checked my ratios periodically on the equipment screen (a very helpful feature!) and I was up to 81% by the end of Chained Court and 88% by the end of City of Skulls.  I took a bit of a beating in the Spider's Lair, but it was very satisfying, ripping it apart with my gunrunning Missile Launcher.  :D  I think the best part, though, was when I did a gunrun with the BFG against the Cyberdemon.  :P

This was a pretty close game; with the supplies I had, I'm sure I would have pulled it off.  Well, there's always next time.  :)

I really ought to try gunrunner. It sounds fun.

BTW

On level 2 he entered Hell's Arena.
He saw, left a present and left.
On level 9 he entered Hell's Armory.
He decided to nuke Hell's production center.

It seems like this is already implemented, though not for all special levels. It seems I owe Kornel, or will soon, some money...

I have almost no experience nuking various levels. If you nuke the armory, do you still get the goodies?

The only goodies that can survive nukery are the Angelic set, and they don't spawn if you nuke (to the best of my knowledge)

Every green/yellow/red item is indestructible and can survive nuke. But if was worn by the demon and that demon was gibbed alive it will not drop.

Good question; I don't think the Shambler exists on the level until you flip the switch and the reward doesn't exist until you kill the Shambler.  I know the purple switches in Dis are invulnerable and can survive a nuke, but I don't know for sure if the purple switch in Hell's Armory is invulnerable too.  It might be theoretically possible to nuke Hell's Armory, have the switch survive and summon the Shambler and thereby get the reward afterward.  Anyone want to try this?  :)

On a related note, I have tried nuking the Lava Pits.  The Lava Elemental still comes into existence afterward and you can fight it and get the Lava Element as normal.  If you nuke it a second time, though, it kills the Lava Elemental and you lose the Lava Element.  :P

I really ought to try gunrunner. It sounds fun.

It is!  :D  Once it really gets going, a Tactical Shotgun combined with Shottyman will tear your enemies apart.  It was especially fun in the City of Skulls, as I'm sure you can imagine.  :)

Nuking HA lets you get the mods. (Tested in 0.9.9.6, but I don't think this changed)

If you activate the switch before the nuke detonates, you get a free shambler's head (well, I'm not sure you get the badge, but I only care about the improved loot)
If you nuke before activating the switch, it isn't destroyed (but getting shambler's head is harder without covers, and you lose all the cool stuff of the armory... I don't think it's worth it)

Also, this lever can be activated several times (to get gambler's shield). I don't remember if I already reported this. Who cares about it anyway ? :p

What ? As Rajhin said, All uniques are indestructible, and while I don't nuke mortuaries very often, I'm 100% sure you get cathedral's weapon when you nuke it (I never complete UC with another method anymore...)

It wasn't much of a charge; actually it was just one step, because instead of shooting at them, the Gunrunner trait targeted a Demon I didn't notice at point-blank range and I blew myself up.

Nice. :)
Is there a time limit for the Quartermaster Angelic? Either way, I think you could have afforded to stop for a brief moment to read your surroundings.

Oh, goodness. I did not know that. Learn something new everyday! :D

Oh, I did.  I wasn't expecting it to shoot at the Demon right next to me.  :P  I guess I just wasn't thinking.

I believe that's been fixed in this version.

*Looks at Wiki*

Oh, wow!  You really *do* get improved loot if you get Shambler's Head!  :o  I never knew that!  But practically every time I try for it, he teleports up to me and scratches me!  :(

I usually get scratched by formers before even battling the Shambler, since I usually take the supercharge before challenging the Shambler...

I feel like there must be something laughably fundamental I am missing.

How is it possible to release the Shambler before a nuke goes off? I thought the only way to survive a nuke was to be invincible, but it seems incredibly unlikely, if not impossible, for you to be invincible during that. (Maybe if you're a Marine with an invincibility globe right next to the stairs to the Armory...)

With a lucky phase, and probably also with a tactical RL or rocket box to rocket jump to the lever.

I tried it only once, and failed miserably (was on AoHu, and the shambler just explained my predecessor that his damages were quite high for a poor AoHu, so I tried to profit of my invulnerability), but I kept the save for experiments :)
