2254 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 2072 of those were killed.
15 of those were killed by something unknown.
23 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 103 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

 41 souls destroyed the Mastermind...
3 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
33 killed the bitch and survived.
5 showed that it can outsmart Hell itself.

--------------------------------------------------------------

So I was feeling like doing a half meelee Ao100 run and see what goodies I could find.
It started pretty good. Phobos was scarce on health but manageable. I didn't find a combat shotty till lvl 12 where I immidiatly made it to tactical. But I also found the fun toy, revenants launcher.
I kinda ended up using it for quite bit as I did not find an actual rocket launcher till somewhere in hell levels 20sh.  But I had found a ton of rocket boxes. I honestly blazed some levels with burning several rocket boxes and made the blaze look like a war zone. This only went up even more when I made nanomachic rocket lawnchair.
Having berserker was excellent defensive. I could detonate a rockete next to myself and get a berserk immidiatly if the situation needed it, and meeleeing was really great during those nightmare spider caves.

...However this caused some issues with health. As I kinda detonated absolutely everything with the rocket launcher I also destroyed way too many items. Special health packs.
I started slowing down and using my other weapons more and more. Then I found my favorite weapon: Plasma shotgun. This made the run even more fun.
Till this level where I made an oopsie.

I accidently holded down shift when I reloaded the plasma shotty. Appereantly it does the full reload with it aswell even though the normal reload already loads plasma shotty to full..
And it appereantly does the full reloads time consuming aswell with it.
With that I was stuck not being able to do anything. Funny thing: The bruiser wasn't even visible in my sights when I pushed to reload. I was thinking I was safe.
Then I one push and bam. Dead.

And man, did that bruiser shoot a lot. I wonder how long I was actually stuck "fully reloading" the plasma shotty.
I was really hoping to get this plasma shotty to B1T1P3 but oh well. Can't win em all.

Oh my...

Just did a little test, and indeed, it take 62 turns to fully reload 3 cells, and 602 to reload all 10 missing.
I guess it's 2 seconds * 3 for every shot, + .2 as benefit for using full reload.

Since BB and some other fun high depth enemies have the HUNT flag, your chances to survive were quite negligible ^^
I'm too lazy right now, but this bug should be reported

Nice run anyway, but what a sad ending... :'(

Urgh, yeah, that's an unfortunate way to find that bug.  :|  Well, at least it serves as a warning to others; I'll be sure to never full-reload my Plasma Shotgun...  unless I'm invulnerable?  Hmm...  Actually, if you're invulnerable, it could make for an interesting strategy;  stand in the middle of a crowd of enemies with splash damage and do a full-reload.  When they shoot you fifty times, they'll probably all be dead before you finish!  :D

It's advantageous to full-reload shotguns and double-reload pistols when invulnerable, since invulnerability lasts for a specific number of turns, not time, and full/double reload will cost you only one turn. That is definitely the only time you should use these. It's best not to use them on cleaned levels either, else you'll get used to it and do it without thinking like here.

After my experience with invulnerability running out in my 666 game and costing me 100% kills, and now these other threads, I'm beginning to have a problem with turns vs. time.

Perhaps status effects should be changed to last a specific amount of ingame time, rather than turns, since that seems to make more sense.

That wouldn't exactly save the life of doomguys like this... but it would prevent the exploit of taking a high time cost, single turn action to extend a status.

Edit: On the other hand, it would allow players with very low time cost actions like movespeed, fire time, reloading, to use status effects for much longer, and that may not be for the better...

I think it would be better. In Doom, you can get farther if you run with invulnerability rather than walk, obviously. It makes sense.

Agree, but I guess it "would make fast characters too powerful". Wasn't it how it initially worked, in one of those prehistoric versions I'll never play ?

Since speed is already the key to pwn, I don't think it would be much of a problem.
