So, I decided to play some more N! runs.
My last attemp stopped at the anomaly, where I tried to survive the ambush from the starting room, to see what happens... well, it kinda shortened the run.


Nothing much different from my previous (and 1st) win here, except that I replaced MCe with Ber, so that I could pwn UC without spending 2 hours.
Crafting a piercing throwing knife is probably another alternative, but I guess I should just learn to abuse of AoD's double moves...

Also, I got extremely lucky in hell's armory, and got a nano. I wondered if modding a plasma rifle or a RL was better, so I decided to try a napalm launcher. Don't tell me it was stupid, I know it :D
I just wanted to try it, tought it would be awesome, and I must say... it IS !

Well, I'm sure any other good weapon would have been a better choice, but lava is so fun ! I just couldn't resist to a 7d7 for 0.8s +10 accuracy weapon, and didn't have 4 spare slots to wait for one of the ML.
This delayed my cerberus suit a lot, since I rushed boots instead (I didn't plan wearing it, anyway, made most of the run with A modded red), but transforming the mortuary into Limbo is priceless.
I also sunk mount Erebus under my own lava, and torn apart most late levels. My most valuable bonus was the area map, which let me crush the level without risking to destroy stuff.

Since my initial goal was to kick some apostle's ass, I can say this run is a failure. Not a complete one, of course, but still. I hesitated to suicide, and chose to continue only to see how it goes.
I had a very nice start, with 2 caco vaults at dlvl2, and even got SoB2 before the arena (plus a loaded RL, which made it a little quicker). Too bad I still managed to fail :/

At least, this time, I didn't nuke the mortuary, and got a reaper badge this char definitely deserved !

Oh, I was going to forget about City of skulls :

I'm tired of using a shotgun, so I decided to hem... use one of the game's current features (which I hope to see fixed, along with other line of sight issues, in the next version)
Kinda lame, I know, but incredibly fun !

I didn't abuse this in other places.

Wha...?  you already had the Angelic badges for getting N!/YAAM/YAFW/Conqueror, and you decided to do it again...  what...  for fun?  O_o  I think you might have more patience than me.  :P

Or maybe the Nanomachic Napalm Launcher was just that much fun?  :)  Filling the Mortuary with lava like that looks pretty hilarious!  :D

Bah, as on my previous run : I don't see why I should leave those baddies alive, clearing them is my job, right ? !

Anyway, my way of playing most of the time involves securing a safe spot somewhere in the level, then, clearing everything.
I know rushing through can work miracles too, but I don't want to miss XP or stuff, and won't play stupid melee.
Also, without saves in N!, I try not to change too much my strategy, and will have to screw a game if I want to train some level (funny way to "force people playing faster" ~~).

As a side note : I got phobos lab in both that run and the preceeding death, and crushed it both times leaving medkits behind. Considering the level's ridiculous difficulty, I conclude the char is already OP at dl7 on N!
Even anomaly, which seems to be the hardest level in the run, is probably not that hard as long as you get enough ammo & rockets to gib corpses. (That time, I got a lucky phase)

I guess I'll have to play AoRA or try UAC diamong to start leaving monsters alive :)


Tough, there is some subtle differences with my previous run in my build, stuff & strategy. Mostly, Ber replacing MCe (since my goal was to pwn the apostle), but the stuff I used evolved a bit, and I have to sacrifice one more slot for that stupid chainsaw, now.

And Yeah, nanomachic napalm launcher is hilarous. I was quite disapointed I "wasted" my nano for that, while I could have created some eapon which would have made may game faster, (hence, tpoic's title), but this weapons remains extremely sweet. 7d7 is insane, so, coupled with high shooting rate, full precision & collateral lava flooding, it's just brillant :D
Not worth wasting a nano, in terms of strategy, but still extraordinary.
Probably the most destructive weapon in the game, now that I think of it. (well, save nuclear or N-modded Biggest fucking guns... but it's yet another league, and not very common outside Ao100+. Anyway, I'm not fond of clearing levels before scouting them, so I craft them but nearly never use them, which is too sad. I prefer this one !)

Yeah, I once made a nanomachic missile launcher and it was totally awesome. When I posted the mortem, I realized I could have gone with the napalm launcher... I was sad to say the least.

I had a nanomachic(why is it called this when the assembly is properly "nanomanufacture"?) napalm launcher on my last 666 run. Melting the entire floor was quite a lot of fun - my only complaint was that it didn't do as much damage as my laser rifle.

On a related note, I've tried rocket-gibbing corpses in Limbo - there's just too much that gets line of fire on you from the very start. I suspect you need to come into Limbo invulnerable. Mortuary hasn't come up for awhile yet for me(or maybe it has, I just haven't gotten to it - most of my AoOC runs don't even get past level 1), but it seems like it provides more initial cover, so it may be easier.
