Cateye has served me well when the focus was simply, to live. And maybe occasionally kill things.
I really like Cateye because it still lets me kill things if I need to without sacrificing some very important traits, like Hellrunner and Finesse.

Though I don't understand why I choose to use weapons with ginormous reload times with Cateye.
Gatling gun has a ridiculous 3 second reload time, and I had a couple runs previously where I built Cateye and opted for an elephant gun.

What do I talk about for this run?
How about my lack of experience with rapid-fire weapons in general and attempting to mitigate that lack of experience by playing UV MC100?
There isn't much to say about this run that I haven't already said about A100/AA666. I lost patience somewhere around floor 60 where I finished my cerberus steel boots and didn't have to care about carefully tip-toeing around damage tiles, and from that point on I simply dashed for the stairs. Well, tried to, anyway...UV has a tendency to put you in some quite ridiculous pincers when you spawn into a new floor.

And about my assemblies...
I would have had a hyperblaster earlier on in the run, but I brilliantly made a A2T1 plasma rifle instead of A1T2. Made two pairs of environmental plasteels, the first one with an additional A mod and the second with an additional B mod. The second one was absolutely useless since it hindered my move speed quite a large margin compared to environmental plasteel +A. I heard that assault rifles were really good, so I made one...but it kept knocking enemies back. Not sure if it was the SoB 4 that I had on at the time, but even the gatling gun didn't knock targets back until I had invested in SoB 5. Not really sure how knockback works for rapid-fire weapons. If someone could enlighten me on this, that would be absolutely swell.

Rocket launcher +B3 was supposed to eventually become a nanomachic rocket launcher, except I ran out of patience and emptied my care jar long before I could care to continue searching for a nano mod. Also had a shotgun +B1T1...yeah, no comment. And I kept throwing mods into my duelist armor for no reason.

about knockback: I didn't test this now, but if the wiki page

is correct, then you need 12 points of damage for knockback.
The gatling gun does 1d7, so with SoB5 you have a chance of 1/7 (7+5=12)  per shot of knockback, which will happen reasonably often, since you shoot 8 shots per burst. No knockback with SoB4 or less.
An assault rifle does 2d5 (2d6 on plasma rifle) per shot, so it is much easier to reach the 12 points of damage required for knockback. With SoB4 you need at least 8 damage on the assault chaingun, which happens roughly every 4th shot.

Not sure how enemy armor is applied here, but I think it does not affect knockback.
