I'm assuming 'this' is the platinum badge, though I'm a little confused; assuming I understand the time system correctly, doesn't ArchAoLT actively help you get the platinum (30% speed boost equals actions take fewer turns)? Especially given that melee builds really don't care about inventory space?
Well, yes, but I wasn't consistently finishing it in more then 20k turns =P I wasn't making it far enough at all. The ability to carry extra ammunition and medpaks in the beginning was critical for me - without them, I wouldn't have made it anywhere near as far.
Experience points. I really don't get many kills on either of the LT challenges, and this (along with bosses, and UC now that I feel comfortable with it) is one of the few guaranteed sources of experience I've got. Anway, with zerk, it's really not that big a deal, just chainsaw things, run back for a health globe, trigger the brothers, and take them in a doorway.
Regardless, I looked over your mortem, and I must say, I'm kinda kicking myself for not looking for a dlvl23 invuln, Mastermind's Brain really makes the mortem look that much nicer (also I still don't have it).
I didn't really look for it - it kinda got handed to me, lol. 23 isn't the place for running around looking for things, especially on an underleveled doomguy with no ranged weapons. It's nice if you can get it, and to be completely honest, it's the only reason I survived the fight, but imo MMB isn't too difficult to get - I have several of them, most without any invulnerability, since the Mastermind never closes distance. Int2 with plasma rifle is usually enough to grab it.
Cyberdemon's Head, on the other hand - the one on your mortem - continues to elude me. Supposedly it's a simple matter of Fireangel + Dodgemaster, or even just Dodgemaster if you can position properly(or a lucky invulnerability chain ;)), but I have yet to manage it. So suffice it to say I'm more impressed with that, lol.
You might be right about anomaly - I was just always too scared to try it =P as for UC, I arrived there with like one small medpak, and I know from my (very many) AoOC runs that I can't take AoD without at least a large medpak and some good armor, so I had to let that go. Mastermind seems to go down pretty fast to the basic chainsaw, as it is - Longinus is nice, but not mandatory. Still, those special levels probably make up the kill rate difference between our mortems, and a higher kill rate does make for a nicer score ;)
