Metal never really interested me, but horror/speedcore is just as good, right? :)
I think it's a nice alternative, albeit a little more obscure.
I understand why people may immediately default to metal when people think of Doom though.

Right now I'm playing Ao100 on N! while listening to Nightmares on Wax - Ethnic Majority. Far from being music that I would think of in the context of doom, but the creepy atmosphere fits the game perfectly.

Heh, I just listen to a lot of metal in general, so that's my default for just about anything =P

Ao100 N!, huh? I can usually get to about level 4 or so. Then I start to have difficulty with corpse disposal for hell knights and other bigger things that I can't quite control death locations for - that, or enemies just come from everywhere and I can't make corpses to dispose before I become one =P
