Add Darkness event

You could just make it that the level is dark or even darker than normally dark, no need to respawn really.

Well ... Yeah, you need only one successful run. But having it broken, say, on Hell 7 after two hours of playing (yes, I know, I"m not exactly a speedrunner) would definitely put me off for quite some time as terribly unfair.

The difference between other level events and this one _with respawning_ is that, for the particular level, it imposes challenge rules you did not go for in the first place. The other events are just about adaptability. Hard walls? Reliable cover! Soft walls? Don't rely on cover, kill quickly. Lava flood? Run to the other end.
This one, having it's own challenge, is just too much.

Without respawning, it's still harsh, but at least playable. You clear some area? You have at least a good chance nothing shoots you in the back.

PS: Same as Sereg - I go YAAM whenever possible at all.

I think most pepole try to get YAAM when they can.
Btw, it's not necessary at all, and may even remove some fun aspects of the game, since running through is something completely different, but clearing levels completely feels like one achievement.
Also, skipping monsters, like skipping (non-dangerous) special levels, reduce your char efficiency. Sure, lvl 3 or 4 can be enough to win the game, but lvl 18 definitely makes it easier.

And I got to agree with ZicherCZ : in a normal game, you didn't sign-up for respawning monsters. While I'd personally love having such a surprise, I know it would really be a bitch for someone not used to dispose of corpses, especially on some hard challenge. I'd be in favor of adding respawn only in N! difficulty but.... yeah, it doesn't make sense anymore :)

Simple suggestion : nerf the darkness event to reduced vision (-2). No headaches with map or respawns, just reduced vision, this looks quite fair, doesn't it ?

What should we do for this event in AoD then?  Reduce the already reduced visual radius even more?
