Huh, I always thought that DS was required for BA, but apparently not. Either that, or the game marks BA as seen even if you don't pick it up (possible, given that it's not in your inventory)?

Also, grats on having your first win both YAAM and Conqueror; Conqueror especially isn't anything to be sneezed at.

No, you can definitely pick up BA without having Dragonslayer. Otherwise it would kind of suck if you found Berserker Armor first and couldn't again, even after you found DS?

Given that (to the best of my knowledge), Spoiler: Dragonslayer related (click to show/hide)there's a guaranteed DS before the guaranteed BA, this really wouldn't be an issue.
Also, Spoiler: Dragonslayer related (click to show/hide)I checked the wiki, and it agrees with me.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)The wiki confirms you can't wear BA without wielding DS, but you can pick it up (it doesn't auto-wear), and unique finds are based on pickups.

White Rider:
Impressive first win, made even better with both Cybie's Head and Mastermind's Brain.
It pains me to see that you had both the nuke and the lava element though, but I'd say getting Mastermind's Brain made getting the normal win worth it.

...Bah, and you had a Trigun...
