special stages meaning?
« on: February 02, 2007, 19:46 »

i went to a place where it was kinda like a destroyed city, it was full of shotgun humans, and when u go more to the right theres a locked wall, destroy it and u see some lava, after that theres a small maze with bunch of monsters and in the center theres a locked room.... i destroy it and theres only 2 rockets inside of it.  whats the meaning of it? nothing in that stage is cool, weak humans and lil critters, annoying barons... i want something cooler, or it just meant to give u a couple of rockets?

anyone know what it really is?

and i was thinking, there was a stage in the original game where it was a city and it had a cyberdemon and shitload of arachnotrons and imps and cacos, all over the city, and i remember cybie killing arachs or something on.... i really liked playing that stage on coop cuz it was kinda warish!   wouldnt it be cool to have that stage on this one?

You blew up the real prize inside. :(

I always felt that the explosions should be tweaked a little so that it's not so easy to blow something up on the other side of a wall.  A few others expressed this interest, also, I think.

thats impossible, because there are 2 rockets and nothing in the middle, plus i was careful and shot a wall that was kinda far from the door so that the blast only hits the door, and thats what happened... there was nothing but 2 rockets, are you sure?

Yes, we are sure.
You missed a really good item. If it was not you who exploded it, there are also a few monsters there who could.

Not locked doors.
Those are effectively walls.

I usuall let the hell baron to hit me with an acid ball while standing at the "door" from the chamber where the prize is locked, and fry 'im clean when the lower wall is blasted off. This is a guaranteed way how to get to the prize, albeit a bit painful...

One of the lower walls is perfectly in place to be hit by a rocket, the blast destroying the door and nothing past it.

ummm one that was the Halls of Carnage, 2 no even if you do hit the wall you speak of i have lost that BFG a lot! i think there should be a sort of grenade launcher. btw, WTF is up with walls, when blood spattered, going from normal to bloodied to bloodstone to GREEN???????????

I think each color/type is the result of something else, and some occur only on level creation.

I think I've only ever lost that BFG a couple of times.
By playing that area carefully, you can avoid destroying the BFG, most of the time. Work on it, and I assure you you'll figure a system out.

no as u play if u are shooting at a demon with a wall behind them then (esp at death) normal walls turn bright red (bloodied). you can sometimes get enough gore and blood on the wall to turn it into dark red Bloodstone. but if they are spawned bloodied or bloodstone, it is quite possible to turn them Green! what i want to know is, if the demons blood is red, why do their entrails turn bloody walls GREEN????
