I was trying, for a while, to simultaneously get Marksman Platinum and Daredevil Platinum by playing AoMr+AoC.  It was a lot harder than it feels like it should have been and no matter how I tried mixing up my strategy, playing as Technician or Scout, I never succeeded.  At some point, I tried alternating between AoC and AoOC and I still died a lot, but eventually, I had a lucky game.  I played so many times that I lost track of which game is which, but I think this is the one where I started near an invulnerability and was able to charge up to a pack of Revenants and let their crossfire help kill each other.  (It would've taken way too many bullets otherwise)  The experience from that helped me establish myself.

I reached Sharpshooter skill by dungeon level 3 which was also a lucky level; there was a switch that flooded the level with water and a tracking map and two Arch-Vile/Baron packs.  The water ensured that the Viles couldn't raise anyone and the map let me get into strategic positions to take them all down one by one.  Once I had Sharpshooter and had consistent knockback, it made the rest of the game a heck of a lot easier.

I wanted to make an energy pistol, but never got the mods, so I made a high-power pistol instead.  I was never short of bullets anyway, so it wasn't a big deal.  (I had about 1100 bullets by the time I got to the Lava Pits)  I had no intention of trying to do the Mortuary, so no full win for me, but I did manage to snag Mastermind's Brain, thanks to the lava element.

Overall, trying to "Sereg" this medal really didn't make it any easier; I'm sure if I had just done it as a straight AoMr game, I would've gotten it a lot sooner.

But yes, Sereging is not always the easier way -- it does trade off the tedium of playing well with RNG blessings though.

Not in this version so far; I'm trying to avoid getting drawn into Nightmare! games lately because I have schoolwork to focus on.  At least in lower difficulties, I can theoretically save it and get back to work from time to time...  I say theoretically, because I don't seem to have the willpower to break away from the game as much as I'd like.  :P
