Item can be dropped on the nearest acid square without warning, even if there is unoccupied floor.

It gets better: you can even dunk them in acid on the other side of a wall...

Known bug, at least, don't know what the chances of it being fixed are...

The item dropping routine only prioritizes distance away when picking a location.  Aside from that, location is random.

A fix would be based on whether the game should ask where, warn, or whatnot.
