Well, this is interesting...  This started as me kind of fooling around, seeing if I could play AoCn with a Vampyre build, so naturally, I dual-angeled it with AoB so I could start with a chainsaw and I found that I was doing surprisingly well, simply by doing a stair dive and avoiding most of the enemies.  Then, I wondered if it could be a viable strategy for taking on the Mortuary/Limbo and I started making a more concerted effort at it.  About twenty games later, I had this exceptionally lucky game and I successfully got my 15th Diamond, earning me Chaos Brigadier General rank!  WOO!  :D

Level 4, the one leading into Abyssal Plains was a pain elemental cave, which was pretty much the only level I cleared and got a good collection of experience, and there were two invulnerability spheres that I took into the Plains with me.  As soon as I entered the level, I homing phased to the centre of the map, right into the thick of the pain elementals and agony elemental, cut up as many as I could while still invulnerable, and collected the two hatred skulls and blood skulls left behind.  These were a big help during Limbo.

One thing I have to ask:  How the heck many Arch-Viles are there in Limbo at N!?!?  :o  I was thinking there were around 8, so when I started the level and there were 5 or 6 of them nearby, I thought, "Great!  I can clear away a majority of them right off the bat and the rest will be easy!"  As it happened, I kept encountering more and more of them over the course of the level, and every time I thought I got the last one, another one turned up, right up until the end when the last enemy I killed was an Arch-Vile.  AAahh!  :o

Anyway, the hatred and blood skulls were useful for clearing away bodies and keeping me going and my strategy in the end turned out to be to hide in the lower right corner in the nook where the staircase is.  All the enemies can only approach via the two narrow corridors surrounded by lava and I quickly discovered that I was completely safe there to rest until something wandered around the corner and I knocked it down with my Longinus Spear and gained health from it.  Eventually, after hitting all the switches, I was able to lure practically every enemy on the map down there, leading them on to the staircase if I wanted to destroy their corpses.  This strategy was quite useful for gaining health back after each skirmish and accounts for the high number of kills of larger enemies like Nightmare Arachnotrons.  I intended to use the Hellwave pack at some point to clear some more corpses, but it never turned out to be necessary.  I had also hoped to exploit the plasma shotgun reloading bug to get some extra cheap kills, but I never got the opportunity.

Sadly, the nuclear BFG was destroyed, so I couldn't get a full win, but I settled for using the Lava Element to get the Mastermind's Brain.  :)

*Sigh* I did upgrade my computer not too long ago, and I know I promised I'd make a recording once I upgraded, but it's been giving me trouble lately and I may need to reformat it soon. I'll definitely post something once I make a recording.
