Was trying to earn Quartermaster Gold (and Silver and Bronze), turns out MSh isn't such a surefire way of killing spidey as it was in 0996. Anyway, this is what happened after she killed me and I hit the enter key:

Haven't beaten/faced spidey on Win8 previously, so I don't know whether it's a problem with the OS or with the challenge (which I loathed - and thus didn't play - before I set my sights on Qm Gold, and loathe even more now that I know what I know).

Turns out I did actually get a mortem, which wasn't presented to me in game. Found this out because in the very next game (which didn't last too long at all), I suddenly got promoted to Lt. Colonel whilst earning no badges whatsoever. This is the missing mortem:

I guess due to the challenge getting killed by spidey still counts as a partial win?

IMVHO I suppose this is _not_ challenge specific - the Spidey killed you, but died afterwards to that AoRA nuke you carried, and the game didn't handle it properly.
It's a wild guess, but I expect similar behaviour in a normal game, when the player sets off a nuke at Dis and dies before it blows everything up. Sadly, I have no way to test this assumption other than playing it through.
Also I think that the game _did_ award you the medals and recorded that, but crashed _before_ giving you the promotion (the mortem seems to be generated before, but displayed _after_ promotion). After the next game, it checked for promotion eligibility and found it.
