Help needed : Searching for sound files
« on: March 05, 2007, 08:27 »

Okay, hence the upcoming 7DRL competition I could use some help :). I want to add sound to the game, and I need sci-fi themed sound effects. I would need the help of someone who could search the web for appropriate FREE samples. I could do that myself, but it will eat away my development time :/.

The whole soundset would have to be completed before 17th of March.

What I can give in return? Only Chaos/Beta access unfortunately and a Chaosknight position.

Please post in this topic if you're interested.

Well since I'm currently unemployed, I have plenty of free time, so I could sign up and be your webcrawler for ya.

SimCity 2000. I've been playing it abit recently. It has all kinds of useful sound files, though I haven't checked if they are free, or easily accessible for that matter. I'll try checking soon.
Other than that, this is not really my area of understanding, and I doubt I can be of much help.

I don't think drum 'n' bass will fit the sci-fi theme Kornel's got going with it. Sure, drum 'n' bass goes with almost everything, but not everyone agrees.

I saw this site a few months ago, bookmarked it in case it would be helpful.
The Recordist - Sound Effects For Games
It's got a bunch of sci-fi sound effects that you might be able to use.

Argh, sorry, I had forgotten about this.

If there's still any use for them, there's no problem in accessing most of the SimCity 2000 sound files. All I need is somewhere to put them or send them over to.
