[E|72%|25] Aww, almost

<< < (2/2)

TFoN:
No, that seems right, plus you always cause at least 1 point of damage, so mindmg on a PR should be 8 - but that's assuming all shots hit. PRs don't seem to be very accurate weapons, and if you were on coward, many could've easily missed (if I remember correctly. Haven't played in a while). RLs, however, I know will hit [almost?] always, fired at Cybie at EE(3), while coward or otherwise.

But if possible, just use a BFG. They don't miss (though they do have a max range), and have a damage of 8d8.

MedO:
I managed to get to Cybie again, using the same perk path. Rand() was a bit easier on me today so I got less Arachnatrons and only one or two Arch-Viles, but my ammo supply was quite short towards the end. This time, I entered the Phobos arena not with one, but two overcharged Plasma Rifles (still didn't get a BFG, though that was by stupidity). The fight looked good at the beginning, but took a bad turn once my red armor was destroyed. I got him down to "mortally wounded" again, then hit him with a rocket then when he was out of view, and another burst of Plasma. He fired a rocket back, and I was down to 30-some percent health and no medkits left, so I started up the nuke and fired my very last burst of Plasma (really the last in my inventory). In came his next rocket which took me down, but at least I took him with me this time :-). Can't show the mortem though because of the Nuke-explodes-after-death-in-phobos-arena-mortem-bug. Would this be considered a "partial win" without the bug?

Silencexy:
I guess I would, since the nuke would kill you anyway so the outcome is the same

about the RL-issue; aside from damage statistics also consider the RL's knockback a big plus

TFoN:
I don't think it knocks Cybie back, plus he has a longer LOS than you do.

A coward side-stepping Cybie's missiles is quite unlikely to be hit. A [maxed] Hellrunning coward's likely to not be hit at all. That means that with a couple of ranks in Hellrunner, all you really need to do to deal with him is to only fire at him after he does, and spend the rest of the time moving.
