Finally manage to get into a late-game crawl with UV Ao100. Ammochain, plasma rifles, plenty of medkits, P-modded onyx armor until I can get cerb boots to use the Lava Armor...and I get killed from ~55% hp from...something. Message log just says I died. All I did was move one square to the left

How sure about that ~55% are you? Seems more like ~22% to me :S

[EDIT]: Ooh and you got hit by what must have been a Baron twice as well... ~45% maybe...

I hate it when that happens; it's a lack of attention for me when I've got tunnel vision on one monster or refuse to proceed carefully. It is easily the cause of death for most of my doomguys.

I stepped on a teleporter with full health today and died without getting a chance to see the new screen, so I think I've got you beat on burst deaths ;)

Keep at it, though, Ao100 UV is definitely doable, it just requires careful play - and it's easy to get careless on a long grind like that.

Bleah, that's rough, losing when you have such good equipment.  :|  Like LuckyDee said, it looks like you got hit by the Barons a couple of times before the Arch-Vile finished you off; I suspect that you were lower than 55% health when Archie zapped you.

This is why I'm a big fan of Ironman for this type of challenge; those late-game enemies hit hard!
