Save progression system?

Maybe something like a single save slot/autosave feature so if the power goes out, computer crashes, or other such disaster happens that the progress doesn't go away? Also to keep progress when we have to go to work or turn off our computer.

thelaptop:
Regular saving already handles that last part.

One has bigger issues to worry about if the first part is a real problem.
