So, I recently got
a bit of hate mail from someone who didn't appreciate me withholding the secret of how to wield Dragonslayer. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, but it reminded me that I've been meaning to try to see if I could wield the DS while playing with a Malicious Blades build, so that's what I did. :)
I confirmed what I had been wondering that the DS counts as a knife and if you wield a second knife in your prepared slot, you hit with both of them. (If they can survive a hit from the DS, that is; by the time I maxed out the damage, the only things that could survive long enough to get hit by the second knife were Nightmare Arch-Viles, Agony Elementals, and Cyberdemons) Bonus: If the second knife was the Butcher's Cleaver and the BC landed the killing blow, the whole attack takes zero time! :D Extra special bonus: Using the Whirlwind ability makes it hit each of the 8 enemies surrounding you with both knives! :o (Well, again, theoretically it would, if any of them survive the first hit from DS; it took some patience to test that, trying to lure an Agony Elemental and Cyberdemon together) :P
I also found a funny bug that if you do the Whirlwind ability and get knocked out of position in the middle of it, (like if you hit a barrel and it knocks you back) you still strike at the 8 squares around your original position. I managed to knock myself into one of those squares and got the message "You hit you." :D

I was reeeeeally tempted to see if I could kill myself by hitting myself with the Dragonslayer just to see if I could get a funny message or something, but I decided I'd much rather win after all. :)
I wore the Inquisitor set for most of the run, and so all my resistances were 90% and up, so nothing could really touch me. I was pretty tempted to take advantage of the fact that I was a technician to turn that Cybernetic Armour into Nanofibre Skin Armour, or Cybernano Armour just for the sake of getting even more ridiculous levels of protection, but that would have meant that I would be unable to wear the Berserker Armour and I wouldn't be able to get the Apostle Insignia. Maybe another time. :)
