Advanced double SG - wow!!! Just wow!!!
« on: March 28, 2007, 09:09 »

Hello,
I'm a fan of Shottyman/double shotgun.  In one of my recent games I managed to find advanced double shotgun ((6d4)x2).  What can I say - it's nice to kill Arachnotrons or Arch-Viles in 2 shots :).  Barons are sturdier than that, of course, so for them I still use "get next to them, switch to CS, kill in 3 hits" routine unless I can take them from afar with my (advanced) rocket launcher.

On higher (than HNTR) difficulties, though, I get hit way too much while closing the distance with a shotgun.  I'll have to learn to use plasma rifles, despite the ammo being much scarcer.

FWIW,
    Zarin.

Gah, I wish I had such luck in beta versions (in betas advanced weapons went through a quite... ahem... significant change)

Ya, I never have that kind of luck. Usually, if I am taking the Chaingun trait path I'll find an advanced double shotgun and if I am going shottyman I'll find an advanced chaingun. :/

I don't think I've ever seen an advanced double SG. I want one of those too!
