[0.9.9.7 OSX Sierra] Black Screen, No Menu Screen After Load

I had the same graphical glitch error that others were reporting previously on El Capitan, but now, having upgraded to Sierra, I get nothing--just a black screen.

I know that I'm not the only one, another user has posted on the DoomRL Reddit with the same problem.

I know you have a lot on your plate with the kickstarter and takedown notice, but hopefully something can be done.
