just got my first nightmare win by stairdiving. put skills towards melee to take out the cyberdemon/spider to avoid ammo issues. spent decent chunk of hell invincible. tried to move as quickly as possible to shoot for the diamond but didn't make it

As Sereg says, any win on N! is impressive; well done!  :)

And yeah, it looks like you were fairly close to getting UAC Diamond!  I wonder if it might help to change your build a little?  Did you find you got enough benefit from the starting Int 2 to make it worth your while?

Nice one - after you beat it once on N! that's it - you know what works.

Also trying to play quickly suited me better on N! (perhaps counter intuitively) than easier difficulties as you can't camp so much.

And yeah, it looks like you were fairly close to getting UAC Diamond!  I wonder if it might help to change your build a little?  Did you find you got enough benefit from the starting Int 2 to make it worth your while?

i took int 2 mainly so i could avoid blocks of monsters later on. in the first couple levels plowing through the hordes with the shotgun is pretty effective, but this obviously lessens later on when the formers and imps become revenants and viles. TaN or another level of ironman might be more useful as i was frequently running really close to death without any healing items
