[U|AoMr|89%|YAFW] I don't feel any greater respect to anything than this pistol!

Wow what a mortem. There apparently was no Hellrunner in .1, right? .... oh you took a HR level after all... maybe there was no DM? That thing is underrated vs many monsters, except for hardcore gamers like you ;)
Frankly, I really need EE or other means of augmenting my precision. I seem to forget that pistols have aimed shot as alt-fire, I had to reread half this forum to recall they do. XD

So, I left them alone. Obvious other misses were Skulls/Planes, either place is not for pistols, The Wall/Containment as I had no phases, and frankly I'm not fond of jumping into a huge Baron crossfire anyway, UC as it's melee only, also I went to skip Spider Lair trying to not mes up a good run, and the BFG is of no help for AoMr. Lava Pits? Maybe, but elemental heals, and running after him across lava asks for good boots. And there was no Military Base. So nowhere to get much xp.

To gain more XP early, you may consider not continuing the Arena after the second round. You would walk away a sweet chunk of XP and some loot, while keeping a full killrate and the easier version of CC afterwards. That CC would also be fairly easy if you'd just wait for all the formers to come to you, then take the berserk packs to deal with the barons and you should end up with one more berserk left for healing.
For the other levels you mentioned, I'd say that MSs would make quite a difference there, with City of Skulls as the most prominent example. Lost souls are a guaranteed two-hit kill with MSs. And if you're lucky enough to find a blaster or to assemble an energy pistol, The Wall, Containment Area and Vaults become much easier as you have no need for phasing in and out. Some other special levels would also become easier due to guaranteed knockback, for which you only need anything better than an unmodded basic pistol.

Nice run! No idea how you did that without sharpshooter!

AoMC + Int2 + Chaingun is my combo of choice if you want one of the damageless Hell Arena medals without tearing all your hair out. It even works for N! but hair loss is unavoidable in that scenario...

HR and DM were there, but I underestimated the importance of speed; I was still pretty new at the game at the time. (Despite the over 500 games mentioned in the mortem) :P
ih8regin:
How to do that without MSs? Easy, just take a Int-Int then radar shoot. Sure enough you would need 3xSoG with AoMr first, and a lucky enough level 2 so you could have a chance to grow up for that Int-Int.
Also, why no Dualgunner - taking 3xSoG and 2xSoB starts to knock em back, so I though taking DG would be making me lose too much ammo. Also, pairing a single pistol with an ammo chain has a good benefit to allow me fast reloads, and DG is wasted on such a setup. But maybe I was really lucky that day, to not need DG against anything.
About speed... OH YES, here comes the night train... and here it goes away without you being able to hit it XDDDDD
