There's a couple of features that need to be implemented before I can call DoomRL 1.0. It will also be the final version, so I wouldn't be so keen on your place to see it fast ;].

There are going to be at least 3 public releases before 1.0:

0.9.8.7 -- almost ready, in the Release Candidate phase
0.9.9 -- polishing up the old features and adding graphics
0.9.9.5 -- rewrite of the major systems (dungen, vision, AI, item generation)
1.0 -- final polish, scripting API, full story mode, translation support

Can't wait for 9.8.7! Did you fix up the AI any yet (Making monsters not stand there and get shot with Catseye/giftdropping?) And did you make it so lava vats won't spawn between you and the stairs yet? That's really annoying when that happens. :-(

Thanks for the elaborate info Kornel! I feel so much more at ease now! :)
0.9.9.5 seems like a big one, rewrite of all the major systems at the second last release, are they that flawed? ;)
