I consider it much less successful than my other mortem. I was prepared, having not only reached the queen before but also having written down quite a bit of data, such as relative tower placement. What I hadn't written down, quite foolishly, were the locations of key elevators. I doubt I would have survived the entire journey back with such notes, but I certainly would have made it much farther. What I can say in my defense is that despite my vast amounts of heavy weapon ammo and my willingness to switch to gyro-stabilizer armor, I did not find a single heavy weapon throughout the game, and the majority of gyro-stabilizers I had found were on the lowest portions of the complex. Wearing one since then would have been suicide, and that one suit I found higher up the military tower wasn't worth taking when I couldn't find a single weapon to use it with *and* was under constant attack by heavy-hitters.
Anyway, attacking the queen was one of the easier parts of the game. Most of her elites I wiped out with a single krak after herding them around me. I think it was 3 elites and a hunter taken out this way. Her I killed with 3 kraks and a single burst from my pulse rifle. Unfortunately, all what this left me with wasn't enough to get me all the way through to a safer tower, and elites killed me on my way out. I probably should have used my pulse rifle on her, saving a couple of kraks for later. As you can see, I died with a combat shotgun, and the three in front of me are elites. I gave up on a serious fight, knowing that there was no way I could have found more M309/.44 between them and the next bunch, even if I would have somehow killed them. I just emptied shells into them, hoping. If they would have died and if I would have found more M309, there was a pulse rifle waiting for me nearby. As shown, it never came to that :)
