[1.2.0|E|Ma|YAAM] Scrapgun Confusion
(1/1)
thelaptop:
Okay, I'm a wuss... but after so many failed runs at Hard after Dante and all the new stuff added, I decided to go tourist and check out all the content again.
I made a mistake in my build, sort of. I wanted to go for an automatics run, and was gunning for Bulletstorm. But I picked up the crazy rotary called the Scrapgun, and switched over to using it, thus making that Bulletstorm masters useless.
Ah well.
With Scrapgun, even Medusas were trivialised to a large degree, mostly due to the level-up mechanics of the weapon itself.
UI-wise though, I uncovered an interesting problem. Check out how my modded Scrapgun looks like in-game:
Yeah, I couldn't scroll the side panel to see the rest of the details of this weapon. 🤷♂️
That was a fun romp+win. Easy is really a tad too easy... or it might just be this ridiculous unique.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)Mark Taggart, level 18 Marine,
defeated the Harbinger against all odds.
He survived for 13036 turns.
The run time was 1h 52m 41s.
World seed was 8726.
He scored 3299 points.
He wanted to take it EASY.

Back to grinding those Hard runs I suppose. 😅
Sylph:
Entrenchment becomes useless? Really?
The ammo efficiency of the scrapgun doesn't stack with entrenchment? That's weird!

Bulletstorm, not Entrenchment. I've not played much of Technician builds...
I also had severe problems reloading my Scrapgun. Like, a single use of the reload key did not fully reload the entire weapon. I was on a tourist run, and didn't want to risk doing something that would make me be unable to see what was coming, but it was something that also bothered me. Not sure if that was a bug or an intended mechanic.
Brickman:
Assuming scrapgun follows the same rules as the normal rotary chainguns, that's intentional. They only reload 15 bullets (half their normal clip) per reload action. It's a little annoying but it's consistent.
thelaptop:
That's good to know! I don't usually use any of the rapid fire weapons, preferring pistols/shotguns for some weird reason.
