Off topic question for anyone who runs a gaming group.

I moderate a chat server for roguelike players, about 800 members, with a busy DoomRL and Jupiter Hell channel. Most of our growth came from a handful of regulars who drag their friends in and then explain why Nightmare difficulty is a bad first choice.

We wanted to give those people a role, but the invite numbers were a mess. Throwaway accounts and people who left after one evening counted the same as everyone else.

We switched to a bot that only counts players who stick around, and the leaderboard finally looked like the people we see every day.

Do any of you track this in your own groups, or is it overkill?
