Assistance getting the MP3 soundtracks working ...

There is no [mp3] tag! Put it under [music]. And check wether you really have a subfolder called "mp3" (maybe it's case sensitive) and wether the file that was mentioned in the critical error really exists!

Ah.. I failed to mention that I was trying to get the mp3's to work that I downloaded from www.sirgalahad.org ( as per the instructions in the doomrl.ini file).

I followed the doomrl.ini instructions but for some reason they wouldn't play until I followed  number 5 of Thomas' reply.

The doomrl.ini instructions didn't tell me to change the
MUSIC2    = "mp3/d1inter.mp3";
to
MUSIC2   = "music/d1inter.mp3";
and so on and so forth.

I must not have figured out where the right place for the mp3 subfolder should have gone ( could have sworn that was the first thing I was playing with, oh well).  ANyways everything is up now, MUCH neater with the mp3 soundtracks.

This is wierd, my doomrl.ini has the music section like the one I posted (with mp3/*), and it works ^_^. You apparently placed your mp3 files in the "doomrl/music" folder and not the "doomrl/mp3" folder :->

Duh, if there's any chance for a DoomRL release in 2005 it's between Christmas and New Year's Eve.
