Title: Blood an 1997 game

recently i discovered the existence of a game named Blood.
It was made in 1997 and use sprites... it's full of gore, blood and occultism.

it has few innovative ideas (vodoo doll, invisibility pick up ) but if you liked some weapon or monsters they could be implemented in the DoomRL (at least the game reproduce the dreadful feeling of doom).

This game is SO calling to be DoomRLLiked.
Member of the holy-shit council of Build-engine based DoomLikes (with Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior).
Those game had pretty crap graphics but still kick the ass of any modern FPS (i still call them DoomLikes lol, getting old son ?)

Man, I really really really really want to play Duke Nukem RL at some point in my future. Hell, if I managed to get a lot of spared time and someone convinced me it's easy to mod DoomRL, I'd give it a go myself.

Also, I didn't get to play Blood back in those days. I should probably give it a go someday. And Shadow Warrior too - I only played deathmatch.

Now Redneck Rampage, that was a great build game!

I refer to the entire fps genre as doomclones, like we did back in 1995.  in fact, when i heard about the genre "roguelike" i searched "doom clone" "roguelike" into google and thus found this game.

There already is a roguelike called Infra Arcana

which is mostly Lovecraft-oriented, but also takes some inspiration from Blood in some of the weapon choices (dynamite, pitchforks, tommy guns),
and  "cultists" as enemies.
I think it's pretty fun.
