AliensRL works fine!
Some more things I noted about the bug in DoomRL:
- The artifacts only seem to be in a square in the middle of the window. If I go full screen, the edges of the window will look fine.
- The artifacts will have different colors/shapes every time I restart the game.
- Sometimes when I start it, the game works fine (no artifacts). This happens very rarely.

I also have this bug. It's really sad. The weird part is that it worked perfectly the first time I played it, right after install - but the second time I started it and from that on it always does this. Reinstalling doesn't help either.
If you don't have a testing environment I can help you debug it if you would trust me with the source. (OSX dev)
