I think it's enough to simply make a mental note. The karma system would just promote unnecessary inequality among users.

No, from what I've heard in chaosforge IRC it seems they could be way more different than that, up to having different trait trees.

I'm seriously disliking this notion, but perhaps only because I like the system the way it is. Why complicate it?

The funniest thing is that I actually checked the wiki entry about BFG 10K and read the line saying "don't aim one square ahead of you", and what do I do next??? I decide to check whether Ammochain works on this beast and SHOOT ONE SQUARE AHEAD OF ME!!!

It's ok, it happened to me too, but on an Ao100 run with Iro3 and ~120% health and armor to boot. Won't be making that mistake again.

But then, nano mods are too strong in general.

But then again, nano mods aren't too common, so I think you should make the most you can out of them.

Agreed, this would be overpowered. And as far as jumping goes... hell, that's why you always keep a regular rocket launcher with you at all times. ;)

Pulling the lever in Hells Armoury multiple times results in multiple Shamblers (And lots of XP if you can handle it).

I forgot to get a screenshot at the time, so I'm going to try again... in the meantime enjoy this picture.

Not sure if this is a bug, since the inability for manual reload is a feature of the nano modpack.

BTW, did it also regenerate ammo when you stayed put for one turn, and actually didn't require moving?

My 2c: playing a challenge mode can be easier for your mind than trying to beat the standard game. Why? Because with restrictions, you have fewer alternatives and fewer strategies, meaning you need to spend less time hesitating and trying to decide which strategy to go for. That choice has already been made, and the challenge modes are really good in this respect, aiding personal development. And this is why reading the wiki can be troubling, because, storywise, there isn't really much in the game anyway(at least not much that we weren't familiar with already). The fun comes from figuring out the game mechanics, so hopefully reading guides, if necessary, won't take the fun away. I do check the level layouts fairly often though, but that's just careful planning...

BTW, out of curiosity, how often do you get a chance to play DoomRL, Brewtal?

As an additional note: I won AoB before AoSh (and that's not because I didn't try AoSh), and it was one of the first challenges I won, but maybe that's just me.

Ao100 will be more fun each version, I promise :>
