Title: Forum Upgrades
Post by: Kornel Kisielewicz on October 27, 2005, 19:12
I've added a few upgrades to our forum. Out of those the most notable are the "Members List" (see above), and "Online Guest counter".  Also I wonder wether to add more functionality... the ones I currently think about is a enchanced statistics page, and a poll system.

Marking read threads would be extremely helpful.

Is it possible to add ability to receive replies by email?

And yes, marking read threads would be nice.

Unfortunately there is no prepared upgrade for that for miniBB. I may have a look at the sources myself tough, tough releasing 0.9.9 is at a higher priority :-). BYW -- changing, Newest Topic to Newest Rely in the main vew sorting helps a lot :-)

Sure, you shall distract from this.

It's not the same. The easiest way to make it is to remember the last time the user was on forum and when he looks at the main page, display all threads with the last reply after that time as new. It is not a proper solution, but it works and it is easy to implement.

I guess the forum is active enough that taking a look once a day is worth it.

LOL! I'd better go and find some medicine then :)

And for another item to add to the wishlist: a preview button anlong with the post. A bit helpful, but not really neccessary, though.

There is a ready to install preview button that opens the preview in a seperate window -- interested?

Shall suffice. Somethimes I'm unsure how all these tags, quotes and linebreaks will look when posted.
