Before him 424 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
404 of those were killed.
6 of those were killed by something unknown.
And 7 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.
Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!
Is he immortal? 7 souls claim to have killed him...
7 killed the bastard and survived.

I got the CD with my last missile. No uniques except Phaseshift boots. I mostly avoided special levels. The only truely notable thing about the run was the glut of mobility mods. This inspired me to pick a level of Hellrunner late.

Ok, I thought I did, though.
Tags do not come naturally to me. :[
Macubi definitely suck, but I hate the Cacodemons worse, especially when a big pack surprises me in a small room. Them, and those arachnotrons.
Still it's amazing what EE2 + Plasma Rifle w/ D1A1 can do. I was landing 6-7 with every burst! I am officially switching to Accuracy over Magazine from now on.
Ok, I think I've got it for next time. :]

My first time on H. The ol'Cyberdemon wasn't gentle. I ran into tons of armor mods late, so I managed to hose him down after taking about ten in the face. One Assault Shotgun too late to be effective. Didn't get much special level action either, though I did get the BMFG in the Halls of Carnage, which is tricky for me.

Berserk! / Re: Ideas and Suggestions For the Next Version of Berserk!
« on: April 23, 2007, 17:56 »Quote
Some kind of Energy-consuming thrust attack might be good, too. (Charge forward three or so tiles and scatter enemies in your path!)
I gotta second this one. Say move 3-4 spots, knocking everyone next to you back a step (maybe no\light damage), and hurting anything in your path (and knocking them aside\ahead.) That would be impressive. THAT would be worth building up strength to get.
More knives!

Discussion / Re: Fallout: Mods, 3, RL

To the starving student. MS Virtual PC is free now, so why not pull a copy, and set yourself an virtual DOS or 9x box? That was the only way I ever got WarHammer40k: Chaos Gate to run clean. It SHOULD handle sound ok, and if you're thinking RL only, you won't have to give up much drive space. It'll be slower than you parent PC, but it should handle a roguelike just fine. Also, you can run it in a window, and watch a movie at the same time. Perfect for my short attention span.

Discussion / Zombie Horror Survival!
« on: March 28, 2007, 13:05 »
My dream rogue is a randomized urban survival against zombies with multiple STARTING points. The zombie fighting angle is obvious, but the starting point thing goes like this:
Depending on what type of character you choose (with the attendant bonuses and penalties) your mission will vary. For example, if you are an unarmed civilian, perhaps either holing up in a house and surviving the night, or making your way to a shelter would be the goal. However, if you are, say, a police officer, or a national militia type, then your increased firepower would be matched with a more difficult objective, like clearing the area around a shelter, or escorting civilians to safe zones. A middle ground would be perhaps a street hoodlum, with better weaponry and combat skills, but no initial shelter, say trying to rescue his family or girlfriend.
Within their limitations, these goals, and the associated maps, could be randomized.
The Key is that the intro map, the triggered quests, and the overall experience would be dependent on what role you choose. The would multiply the replayability.
