Pain elementals summon pain elementals instead of lost souls - even when they die.
The stairs only appear when everything is dead.

If encountering an already armed nuke in a level counts, then this isn't a bug, you nuked the Lava Pits, and encountered already armed nukes on floors 11 and 20.

Thanks for the music generator - should provide some interesting combinations (hopefully Slayer's Angel of Death at the UC)!

Just finished my AoRA victory - surprised I managed to kill the Cyberdemon instead of going martyrdom on his ass - and yeah, a turnrun is massively different from a speedrun. I took a lot more consideration into my actions (and still managed Compet-N Silver, heh).
Thanks for the advice too, it'll come in handy and will almost certainly save me from a few YASDs.

My previous speedruns sort of gave me the idea to do AoRA, I figured the only difference would be that it would be on HNTR.
The time limit wasn't too taxing, except in the Armory where I escaped with about thirty seconds left and even then it was nowhere near enough to make me break a sweat.
Found the super shotgun in the Armory, and boy is it a weapon. I could kill a group of demons instantly - and I did so at floor 14.
Almost died on floor 12 - arena of arachnotrons and my super shotgun didn't have the power at range to outdamage them, leading me to use four large medpacks getting into range while being blasted by Barons.

Used a phase at Hellgate and was dumped three floors away from the gate itself. Floor 16 wasn't that interesting, found the second suit of medical armour here, first was on base 9.
Added the railgun to my collection of curios and relics at 18, didn't have a chance to use it.
As I entered floor 19, Touch of Evil began playing. It was appropriate - this was a barrel level (oh joy).
Killed two pain elementals without trouble, then a baron with a little trouble as he was knocking me out of range whenever I reloaded.
I rounded a corner and just as the chorus of Touch of Evil began, I was killed instantly by an imp fireball and three fuel barrels exploding next to me.
All four of my Red Alert runs have been ended by barrels, the first by a sergeant, the second by my own stupidity, the third by a revenant and this is the fourth.
I plan to finish AoRA for my sixth silver badge, which will rank me up.

Viles have been the cause of death of many a marine - it's a shame you died this far in :(
I'm not entirely sure how the Vile hit you - will probably need a veteran to work out this.

Line of sight works a bit funny - there are certain cornershooting instances where it'll work fine, and some where you'll hit the wall right next to you.
However, regarding your diagram, the arachnotron can't hit you because its line of fire has to go around the wall to get you. If it moves down one space, it can make a straight diagonal line to you, allowing it to hit you. Basically, if the monster's line of fire doesn't have to take any drastic bends to get to you, it can attack you. I'm not sure exactly of the nuances of cornershooting, even though I'm a shottyman at heart and should have learned (too many AoB games will do that to you).

Oh, and mod limits: You need Whizkid 2 to be able to add mods onto assemblies, but you need to have WK2 before you assemble the weapon to be able to mod it.

How do you take the Shambler down on AoSg?
Because honestly, the luckiest I've ever been was about "heavely wounded" before he took off. (And next time I caught him he was "Lightly wounded", repeat ad you're screwed.)
The best you can do is a lucky plasma shotgun in the armoury which'll tear through his armour and kill him before he teleports away or an even luckier Jackhammer.
To maximise damage, stand in one of the huts that hide Arachnotrons with the door shut and wait. He'll eventually teleport in and you need a maximum of one step to get into prime shotgun territory - with no knockback at all and a little luck, he'll go down before he teleports.

As I'd been doing a bit too many ITYTD speedruns, I decided to try my hand at something a little more difficult.
Namely, Angel of Purity.
My main trait built was to be: Int > Int >Rel > Rel > SM > HR > Fin > Jug > MSh, and then Iro/TaN.
This specific trait build (i.e. a Shottyhead) was to reduce my massive reliance on powerups by keeping enemies out of my vision range.
First few levels went perfectly - got a combat shotgun on Base 7 and then an assault shotgun on Base 8, immediately bulk modding it. This would probably save my arse numerous times, with Shottyman's ability to fully reload the assault shotgun allowing me to cornershoot without any hitches. The very next level would present me with Onyx Armour, which would reduce my reliance on armour shards, and indeed, the luck required to find an armour lever (of which I found FOUR). Hellgate was spent carving a passage to the demons with my rocket launcher, the Bruisers did a lot of damage, forcing me to use my three large medpacks.
It was Hell 1 that I realised I'd done the worst possible thing to do - played Angel of Purity ran out of shells. I then relied on the glorious RNG itself to stop me from spawning next to Arch-Viles and Revenants.
Amusingly, it did. Hell 2 was a room full of what sounded like Revs and Viles - undoubtedly the WORST combination you could possibly ask for - in the corner. I took my chance, and searched around, finding two large medpacks and shockwave pack and a phase device.
Hell 3 was possibly the luckiest thing EVER and the worst thing ever when you have no ammo - an arena level. Intuition showed me that there were three enemies next to a lava barrel in the bottom left corner, so I used my rocket launcher to show them what for and escape.
Hell 4 was a rev complex (arse!). Spawned next to two revenants and a shell box. Had I had just ten more cells, I'd have been able to probably kill the two revenants with my BFG and claim the shell box for my own.
Hell 5 put an Arachnotron between me and the Vaults - with no ammo except for rockets and bullets I decided to punch it to death. Spiders evidently can't punch because he hit me a grand total of three times. A unique spawned in the vaults but there was less than zero chance I was getting it with no shells
Hell 6 - stairs were just out of my vision, escaped rather fast.
Hell 7 had me running over acid dodging Mancubus blasts to get to the stairs.
Hell 9 was pretty funny - just look at the map - there was no way in hell I was surviving that. I'm quite glad I died to a revenant rather than an arch-vile because revenants are infinitely cooler.

Overall:
AoP is quite fun, will be trying it more when I can, see if I can win and not forget to pick up every shell I see.
The thing I missed most wasn't berserks or invulnerabilities (but invulns would have helped a load), it was armor shards - I must have tore through six red armours getting through Hell, and more green armours in the base itself.
This game seems to like killing me on the level before Cybie, doesn't it.
