Not much really. There are way more than enough TD games out there (I'm looking at you Newgrounds) and roguelikes are definitely not a good medium to present a TD game.

However strategy games can work as a semi roguelike, just look at Dwarf Fortress.

Not really..Nightmare mode is intended to be incredibly hard and does not give everyone else (I'm an Ultra Violence man myself) the chance to have bragging rights..Besides, using a trainer would ruin it.

My conspiracy theory is that this Baphomet is actually Kornel trying to catch out those who would cheat, thus explaining the lack of action taken on this thread.

They (System Shock and AliensRL) are alike in that ammo is a finite resource, have (or more accurately: Will have in AliensRL) hackable security stations and have the player as one lone military man against an alien horde.

However the System Shock series is very story driven and relies on the use of voice recordings, so unless you would make a complete port of it...

This is also not an original idea..If you look back in the forum archives I'm pretty sure that you will find a post of mine inquiring about the feasibility of a first person ASCII display.

The Doom manual states that the limbs of the Pain Elemental are "Vestigial and Atrophied"..And plus they look pretty puny.

And in Doom they only spawned lost souls.

But what if..they ram into you ala lost soul in DoomRL? Who knows what a piece of hellspawn would do in that circumstance.

He shot plenty of fireballs that were approximately twice as powerful as imp fireballs at quite a rapid pace and had a cooldown time between bursts..

I'm thinking blue armour, 100HP and rapid-fireballs with a cooldown time?

Well..The idea is just to mark where the tower ends. Kornel has stated that tower exits will have some kind of bridge to cross in later versions so you might see the tower flooring start there.

Yeah the aliens have acid blood. It's just that marines know how to walk around it. In IVAN it can be a pain in the ass to walk around acidic blood. Stupid dark frogs.

And once again..Bullets hardly hurt them, why should a brass knuckle? Almost ALL aliens have some pretty serious armour on them..

You pick up armour by pressing the "g" button while over it. If you are already wearing the same type of armour you are trying to pick up then of course you won't pick up a new one. Armour degradation does not
exist in ARL.

Just because an elevator might not be in the tower you are in now doesn't mean there is not one in a nearby tower...

Not really a bug, but I would like to see a better way to handle dropped weapons.

The d button (d for drop) is VERY close to the f button (f for "fire at the alien that is eating my delicious flesh") at least on a QWERTY keyboard and more than once I have bumped into this rather unique YASD situation.

It would be fine if the game remembered that my M41-A still had 30 shots left in it..but no! When I pick it back up again it's empty and I get eaten.

I don't understand why the drop button was in, but at the moment I would really like to see a "safty catch" option for dropping.. I.E "Are you sure you want to drop your last chance of survival? [n/Y]"

Sorry if I've been ranting.. It's just something that has gotten to me.
