Adding a bit more light to the level after clearing it would feel more safe and relieved, while not affecting gameplay.
-
Exactly. Why would anyone want that from a Doom game?
I guess applying a computer map wouldn't be out of order though, maybe handwaved with some tecnobabble if need be. ("Signal re-established ... accessing data cache ... ... local map routines updated").

And, such an effect in reverse wouls tell that some enemy got back up on N! or AoD.
Sorry. In Hell, there is no relief.
-
I think this would be pretty cool if only for an aesthetics reason.
-
About adding light, I don't see the point either, unless you propose to add a gamma setting to the game itself :)
@ZicherCZ
In N! or AoD, the effect wouldn't occur as long as a corpse remain. Not a problem.
Giving free "area map" has been discussed in an other thread, and seems way more interesting to me. The problem is it changes balance a little (e.g. in some caves where you hesitate to explore beyond lava).
I think the best compromise would be to give the map area only in special levels (oh, and maybe on ITYTD, it's the build-in tourist mode after all...)
Note that even in that case, an exceptions would be needed, for AoRA :)

If you're going to use techobabble to justify computer map after cleared level, it should probably be ITYTD and/or Technicians only.
