Discussion / Charch's Null Pointer, is it ever worth using?

Recently Charch's Null Pointer has shown up quite a bit for me.
After many experiments I can tell that it's effect is to mess with the game's calculation of turn order delaying the target's next turn but it never seems to give enough time to even swap to another weapon and shoot more than once. Perhaps if I ever decide to waste traits on juggler it might give me the chance to perm-stun a single target while shooting it with a real weapon but the pointer only holds 6 shots, is this thing ever worth the effort?

Even after all these years there's one badge series that I find to be complete bullshit, the 'Speedrunner' series.
My average win in this game is around 3-4 hours and even the bronze asks for it to be done in 30 minutes, any suggestions on how to pickup the pace without getting killed?

I skipped the wall because I forgot the plasmatic shotgun mod used a sniper and not a nano.
This would have been 100% but I walked into the cathedral be accident due to a zerk pack...
I had very odd luck with mod packs this run, no less than 4 firestorm packs, 2 onyx packs, and 3 sniper packs.

Could regeneration be altered to function at the same frequency as health decay (once a second)? This might be enough of a nerf to allow regenerating specials (nano pack, malek's armor, nuke weapons) to be more common.

It could even chain into that revisit to hell's arena. (is there any reason we can't chain special levels?)

This run was nuts. FOUR nukes, well placed stairs, a trip through the mortuary (no special medal or reward for this?) and plenty of inv globes results in one dead mastermind. One question; how are you supposed to get past the Cyberdemon and still be able to finish the game without a second nuke?

First run with the new version and I gotta say it's a bit of a change.
Is the combat shotgun so over powered that you needed to push it all the way into hell itself? My first one was IN the vaults... Come to think of it I didn't see steel boots till lvl 13, I guess it's one way to balance the assemblies.
Ran out of shells at the wall, the new AI appears to make the barons keep their distance till they see you (don't quote me on that)
Fixing the walls of the hellgate and city of skulls was a bit of a suprise but long overdue.
Got ammochain just before the armory and the firestorm pack for killing the shambler. The plasma rifle was a few floors later and that was about it, almost nothing can stand up to that gun chainfireing.
Cyberdemon was FAR harder than ever before, just how much was added to his sight range +3 or is it +4? I only saw him once and had to blind fire ALOT of plasma to kill him. I would rather fight the baron hacking version of JC, I wouldn't need quite as many med kits.
I had 3 inv globes near the stairs to UC but I left my chainsaw back on phobos.
The mortuary was a cakewalk, phase kit droped me next to 3 of the viles, BFG'd 2 before they could even act, rifled the other and walked right.
Two env suits and less than a stack of plasma later I had the lava element.
Very nice touch with Dis, I always wondered why Cyberdemon's level didn't have the traditional enterence but I guess the spider stole it.
JC was easy but the Cacodemons are an improvement to the lost souls and he did have a new trick this time.
In general it's a great release but i thought it was going to be longer not shorter...

I forgot how powerful a chain gun can be in this challenge.The arena was a bit close but it was worth it.
I built a gatling gun in the armory, normally it's pure crap but it seems to be custom made for this. The shambler went down in about 3 rounds and there was a firestorm pack for the reward.
I held on to my chainsaw in an attempt to kill the angel but that just didn't turn out well.
The rest of the run was abusing a 10 shot plasma gun to one hit archviles.
I went for the full win because my YAAM was already screwed. JC didn't even touch me as I fed him plasma. (why was he nerfed anyway?)

While digging through my old computer's hard drive I found this gem. This was the first version of Doomrl with sound, it's amazing how far things have come. I think also have a pre-archvile version but I haven't found it yet.

The only reason I was on HMP was for practice for HNTR, I just got lucky.
MVm gives alot of hp and zerk. The hp means I don't need to sit and recharge and the double melee damage and high brute bonuses were essential to kill those late game mobs. In all honesty I think I would have died much earlier if i didn't get Malek's Armor as it give a great speed boost and essential resistances. I spent most of the game charging from target to target in the center of the map letting friendly fire thin out the ranks. I'll try a proper pistol run next.
