I pushed several barrels across a bridge, and one barrel started to paint tile it was on into a tile it's being moved onto.

Bug Reports / Does enemy-spawning switch give xp?

I remember something that respawned enemies give no xp (didn't find it on wiki, neither in "corpses" nor in "arch-vile").
Does the same apply to spawn-switches? Should it?
At the end of level, being 97% before a master trait, I wanted to gain some xp, but 8 enemies took me nowhere from 6/97%.
Is this a bug?

FPC Valkyrie / Samples broken in trunk?

Hey,
I'm tempted by 7drl and Kornel's 7-year old rant in R.G.R.D., so trying Valkirye now.
Though, I cannot compile valktest.pas - it uses a bunch of outdated modules.
I expected to find a working and playable example there, is this the case?

I was curious if I can pass it using only guns, and it worked surprisingly well.
Well, I was happy to find GCB early, and it did help a lot.
Well-modded Combat Pistol is maybe even more effective, but GCB is so much more fun, and its volleys sometimes help, if I need to tank a whole pack of Arachnotrons :D
At about character L14/dungeon L25, this becomes pretty monotone: you can just tank on, no one will stand a 0.1s gunfire. At about L40, with SoG5 and Sob3, I was able to just shoot down a Mancubi/Vile packs I spawned nearby.
In fact, I didn't need a Dualgunner, and should have taken a Scavenger. Now I was just leaving Jackhammers and such behind.
Intuition2 + Phaseshift set makes you virtually invincible. Sometimes I was forgetting you shouldn't push barrels into lava.

Why cannot I carry it around, after all?
Most I can do is to take it to a lower level or two - as far as homing phases and luck permit.
And why cannot WK2/Scavenger disarm it? I know, AoRA and stuff.. BTW an AoRA nuke doesn't have to lie NEAR you at the level entry, so you still have a chance to explode.

We spend a pretty emotional seconds looking at "You die!" message, like here: http://forum.chaosforge.org/index.php/topic,1075.msg52631.html#msg52631
It made me think graphical version shoud have a Doomguy corpse, to, er, enhance the experience.
It could even be a two-step animation, like, you know, kneeling and falling. BTW.

Notable things about my run:
The high playing time is due to leaving my PC overnight twice.
A quick question: if I set a nuke and go down, does it count as killing all the enemies in the level? I didn't want to spoil my score experimenting.
- Onyx mod on Red armor was rather a desperate move (I was running our of armors in my 20s) than a weighted decision. Though, it turned out to be great for my play style (or rather, lack of skill): just tank on, sometimes forgetting to change armor or use a medpack. It went even better when I figured out it can wear more mods.
- I spoiled the phaseshift armor on later levels, but it was an experiment anyway and I would lose any destructible armor in the nearest firefight.
Necroarmor is great, but again I rather valued an armor's indestructibility. - A pity I found the laser rifle too late, I could have used the A mod slots of my plasma rifle for extra P and maybe more T.
Though, T2 didn't bring my firing time under 0.33, and T1 with 0.44s/valley allowed 2 valleys in less than a second. This turned out to be sufficient to tank even 3 Arch-Viles + 2 Mancubi packs. - I never shot my BFG; it was a great battery anyway.
- I used the plasma shotgun a couple of times, when I started near a viles+revenants+mancubi pack and needed to push them away.
- The HMP Ao100 game gets pretty monotone after L25: mostly single damage type and Viles.

It was somewhat unfair towards the monsters to find a Trigun.
The hardest part was the Phobos Anomaly, though I was lucky to get in with a little of Berserk Pack remaining.
3 homing phases and a invuln globe on Helll7... and homing phase didn't take me to the exit from Dis.
So I ran out of invulnerability in ~3 turns after I went down to 25.
If I only simply shot with the Trigun again.
And I know now it's impossible to have several master traits, even if the second one is Scavenger - that's why such a strange set of secondary traits. Otherwise I might have taken some Ironmen to charge the Trigun a couple more times... :D

- It's unclear, if Primary/Secondary weapon skills increase damage or precision. If not, then I'm not sure they are worth it at all.
- Why would I train Sidearm reloading, while I could train Technician and get much more profit?
- I wonder why bodies lie almost in every place, but all the glasses are undamaged.
- I didn't feel the need for painkilers - pain goes in 2-3 rounds anyway. I'd better spend these rounds firing.
- Fixing Medical terminals is never worth it. There are so much more Medpacks than Multitools.

It started like a dream run, with Beretta on a 4th level. With Gun Kata, I felt all like that Grammaton cleric.
I was using it as a dual gun; was it a good idea, adding 1 extra bullet from a second pistol for +20% shot time? I'm very unsure now.
2 medpacks were not enough - though I know, with Dodgemaster it's doable without a single scratch. On 8% health, I became more attentive, but was caught by a very edge of explosion. Crab.
I still wonder, does "The Cyberdemon reloads his rocket launcher" mean he BEGINS or ENDS reloading?

Just went in for a quick death, and suddenly found myself winning. In the end, got an invuln globe and had homing phase+nuke rifle at hand.
It's exciting to shoot up all the spiders in Lair because of being faster.
Though having found Sniper Pack, I found Nuke Rifle more useful because of being T-modded - and I never touched my BFG. Maybe I should have carried another medpack instead of 50 cell, but I expected the necessity to shoot BFG.
I must have missed Armory 8(

No interesting trophies encountered - I hoped for a better gun.

To support a ventilation legend, there could be some more types of landscape:
- maintainance ladders: just a narrow 2-way around a tower.
- ventilation system: a grid of a tower floor shape. One can go down to the level or up to ventilation in certain places. Though, for better effect this will require field of vision and decreasing player speed.
- maybe some more tower internals - there must be some infrastructure. That beacon, at the very least.
